Preparing for the Season
Every year I take a moment to pray over each helmet and the young man that will be wearing it. I give thanks to God that He has called me to lead these young men. I ask that He take this player by the hand and show him that by faith in God will lead to victories both great and small. I pray that this young man will come to know the true meaning of the crown that our Lord and Savior had to wear so he can wear our crown today. That he becomes his "Brother's Keeper" both on and off the field. That by striving for excellence he is pleasing God and that he runs the race in which to win. When the Friday Night lights go out and he steps off of the field at the end of the season, he realizes that his light will always shine in Christ.
